Just a note on the white head, I don't think that was an issue among the comments on FB. As you suggest, Herring would be the better option.

Hi all.
An interesting argentatus Herring Gull with broad white tounge tips on p7 & p6, quite similar to many Vega Gulls.

Mars! This Gull was photographed in Cyprus on 18.1.20 by S. Cristoduolides and presumably a Baltic. Looks like a 3cy but the age might not so easy? Pic are not the best but it looks like that the primaries are of a different generation, my take would be that the inners are 3 gen and the middle, or e...

Hi! Instead of going into plumage features and primary pattern I think that the advanced primary moult, with the new p10 growing is better for a western LBBG. As a late moulter, heuglini would normally not be so advanced att this time of year. Check the heuglini and LBBG section here at GRO for more...
