I got the pictures earlier in the process and opted michahellis.
Looking again, I still think so.
A female, yes, but definitely not a graellsii!
Late timing of moult suggests a northern bird..

Re: ad cach from Romania, May 2009
I am sorry to say, but there is the slightest of dark marking on the p5.
So still 0 for Jan.
Note the bill-shape and hint of red on the upper mandible.

Re: 2cy bird from Romania
That is exactly the reason, the lack of michahellis in Tulcea and the rest of the Delta was stunning.
Only 3 birds were seen; 2 2cy and 1 3cy. I do think it is a mich as you all do.

Barneveld
Today, during a 2 hour watch in the pooring rain at the Barney rubbish tip, Holland:
240 hg, 6 lbbg, 4 micha and 9 cachinnans.
Some do show a bit of Poland influence, but maybe they will be accepted by this forum.

Re: possible Kumliens Gull
I was told at the IGM this spring in Scotland that the faintest of grey is enough to pinpoint kumliens.

Re: ad cach from Romania, May 2009
Some do not have black at all and show a heavy angled bill. Also seen in Romania on 20090513, but not a hardcore cach either (as one in the other topic).
Is Herring Gull really not breeding in Romania? Or is this a really late migrant? Or can cachinnans look like this?
