I'd share Lars' opinion about this bird: it looks so good, structurally for a micha, that it has to be one: an odd one with cachi scaps!

hello alain, the bird looks to be a fine 2cy (early "1st summer") cachinnans indeed. bill is perfect with its pointed tip, as are the plain greater coverts - not only worn pattern - renewed lower scapulars are also well acceptable and 2nd gen. median covert row with all dark centers, for caspian gul...

my feeling is yes, intermedius. as most birds in germany and denmark guess. doesn't look heuglini like from amount of black in wingtip, head and bill shape. do they breed now?

hi miauleman, covert and tertial pattern are very typical for european herring gull, which this bird surely is. a darkish female type. certainly an interesting individual and worth sharing. all brown body reminds a bit of american herring gull but the rest is quite typical. as you might know herring...
