Re: Hybrids fuscus x argentatus
Last weeks, a bird originally found by Ian is on Surfbirds as Azorean Gull. Now, I was wondering if these argentatus x fuscus hybrid birds can show less prominent streaking in the hindneck, leaving a limited but heavily streaked chin, ear covert area and crown? And, if Yes; What are the features to ...

Re: Vagrant 1cy in Connecticut?
Nice bird Derek. We have similar birds so now and then in Holland as well, most of the times in October, so I suspected a northern intermedius component. However, checking birds in our local colony show these individuals can be found here as well, but scarce. Picture: IJmuiden the Netherlands, 20 Au...

Re: Viking Gull - Larus hypergentatus
I've just added a few images of the Viking Gull from IJmuiden, when it returned in its 2nd winter. Pictures are from Febr 2008, so bird in 3cy: http://www.gull-research.org/hypergentatus/hypergentatus01.html I also came across a few pictures which I feel could be used in this category. Its a 2cy (Fe...
