Not only the pattern of P10 seems to be asymmetrical, but also the moult stage: on the left wing, P10 is still growing.
Perhaps this feather got severely damaged and had to be replaced by a next-generation primary ?
Still an extremely unusual pattern for a Yellow-legged Gull though!

Re: Interested 2CY YLG from Poland
Actually, it does not look entirely typical for Great Black-backed Gull either, since its body looks slim with elongated rear-end, the outer primaries lack whitish tips or edges, and many wing-coverts and scapulars look quite brown.

Re: possible Kumliens Gull
Have I missed something? With such primaries clearly paler than the primary coverts, this looks like a perfectly normal Iceland Gull, I would think ?

Re: Some Yellow-legged Gulls in Bucharest, November 1st
As the pattern seems to be asymmetrical (P1-2 of the right wing look normal and brown), the most logical explanation is perhaps that P1(-2) of the left wing was damaged and had to be replaced.

Theo
I'm puzzled by birds like this.
Were the new scapulars pale grey or dark grey ?
