Dear Jan and Lars,
Would you do me a favor and pass these pics along to as many gullers as you can and ask their opinion?
Does any of you have contact information of Klaus Malling Olsen?
I need as many opinions as I can get to see crystal clear:)
cheers,
Gabor

Re: canus vs delawarensis??
Thanks Lars! Well, I have mixed feelings about it. I went through all the features I know and I read but I'm just not convinced.. This would be the 2nd or 3rd observation for Hungary so identification has to be well-founded. I spent 6 years in the States and saw loads of RBGs but somehow it doesn't ...

canus vs delawarensis??
Hi All,
I would like to share an observation I made and some pictures I took of a strange-looking bird on Dec 22. in Debrecen, Hungary.
To me it shows features of both COGU and RGB so I'm clueless right now what it can be. Any comments would be more than welcome.
Happy Holidays!
cheers,
Gabor

strange molting YLG?
Hi All,
i took some pix of an ad YLG actively molting (actually almost full-grown) P5 and S1 and some tertials?
since it's symmetrical i don't think it's caused by damage.
anyone has experience with molt like this?
thanks.
cheers,
Gabor

Re: Gulls with mixed features?
Hi Cristian, thanks for your comment.Yeah that kind of a bird I'm more used to as a CG. I have checked your pix of YLGs from Bucharest. Have you ever seen an ad YLG with such a dark eye? The composition of the gulls should be similar to ours here in Hungary except that the Black Sea probably attract...

Re: primary pattern in "eastern" michahellis
Hi All, I have browsed through the posts of the YLG to find something on adult primary pattern. This was the closest to what I was looking for so i upload my photo here. I went through all my pictures and i couldn't find anything close to this one. the picture was taken in Debrecen, Hungary on Nov 1...

Re: ID needed
thanks guys. it crossed my mind that it's already second generation but I didn't think that they can be that advanced at around now. most YLGs I see at this spot aren't near to this one. and I don't think I have ever seen so pale and unmarked greater coverts like this one has. cheers, Gabor Those pa...
