Another interesting gull
Hi all: Yesterday October 21th at Alba beach, Arteixo, A Coruña, NW Spain, my friend Xabier Varela saw this nice bird. A very very dark bird. Only a bit larger than our small lusi (poss. a female...). Could be this bird identified as a dark end of glaucous or are we looking another "viking"?.... All...

Thanks a lot for your experienced opinion.
First time I saw this bird in a photograph (was sighted In Huelva, Southern Spain on 13. sept.2012) it had some argentatus " smell". Head and GC does not seems fine...

Dear all: Today 11.10.2013 at Meirás Beach, Valdoviño, A Coruña, NW Spain (43º36´07´´N – 08º11´33´´W) an old polish friend was resting on the beach. It seems ok for cachinnans, but I think it´s head is a bit angled and squared, Strong bill and with a dark spot in front of the eye. Any opinion from m...

odd gull. Glaucoides, pale herring or Viking....?
Dear friends: On 29.9.2013 Martí Franch saw this odd gull. This bird was identifyed as viking. I´m not sure with the id. I.M.O this is not a viking, but..... I think this is a pale end herring or a dark glaucoides, but I have no enough experience with this extreme birds. Any opinion would be interes...

Hi all: I have no experience with this species but IMO this is a Larus dominicanus vetula ....
