Re: Barneveld 03.12.2010
Most of them actually. But through the scope a ring like this should be readable?

Another juvenile Caspian x LBBG or Heuglin's?
Remember this juvenile from Spain ? On 21-11-10, Zbigniew Kajzer photographed the bird below at the Polish Baltic coast at Kołobrzeg. If I were to picture a juvenile hybrid Caspian x LBBG it would look like this. Given the slow pace of moult and very fresh plumage for a November bird, by no means I ...

Re: ID needed
Those pale feathers aren't juvenile, they are second generation feathers. You can see exactly where it stopped the replacement in the open wing shot. Nice 1cy YLG!

Re: YLG with ring from Slowakia
Oh that would be something in Holland, a Slovakian YLG... Nice pictures indeed. Swedish BHGs are a different league though, they are among the commonest rings to be found in my part of Holland. And it's not hard to guess where they were ringed: of the 128 BHGs SVS rings I read, no less than 100 were...

Re: Should be michahellis but...
Reply from Grzegorz: Hi Gents, yes, at least one pair Heuglin's fem x probable hybrid Caspian x sth male produced two chicks in 2009 that survived until 2 weeks old (later not monitored). This was in Ivanovo (E from Moscow). No other cases known from there, but we found few more apparent pairs Caspi...

Re: Het H word - hybrids from Poland
No flight shots, Ruud ? It does not look very wrong for Caspian Gull to me. Hybrids often seem to have rather stronger barring on undertail coverts. No, no flight shots. It was quite distant, the images (like all my other pictures) have been digiscoped. Barred greater coverts also seem common in (f...
