Hi, Boris, it's a pleasure to meet here a neighbour. I live in Minsk. probably you made a mistake about Mediterranean gull = L. melanocephalus, but you have written that have seen the second but not the first one))) Do you have pictures of L. michahelis in Lithuania? Re: Wintering gulls in Minsk (2012)
as unusually long winter still continues here and rivers in Minsk are frozen gulls still congregate in the centre. It's easy to read rings when they stay on ice rather than swim) Today I have counted some 1600 argentatus/cachinnas on Svislach including leucistic argentatus.

Re: Larus marinus?
a few weeks ago I have seen male and female of L. marinus in centre of Minsk on ice of Svislach river (female was probably the same which you see here on pics). If gulls which concentrate here breed in Minsk we can witness a new breeding species for the country.

Re: CG on a dump near the Minsk
From what I can see, it looks good for michahellis. JanJ Excuse me, colleagues. Birds like that sit now in hudreds on ice in centre of Minsk. I don't think it is michachellis as it has large white spots on primaries. Michahellis so far was not registered for Belarus. It's probably "omissus" type of...
