Re: Westkapelle autumn 2010
No sun at Westkapelle today so all pics suffer from slow shutter speeds. Nice birds all over the Dike todat; 30+ Yellow-legged Gulls, 5 Caspians (including the Ukrain bird), 1000+ argenteus, 200+ argentatus 1200+ LBBG of the Dutch intergrade type and a few intermedius's. Best bird by far was a 3cy a...

Also note the bill and judging by the amount of scapular-moult this one has some genes that induce it to moult early. So a Northern ar...

I predict that Pim will post a few of his collection of this more than average day too. Theo Well predicted Theo! I finally managed to get my internetconnection up to speed. Your pics are great and some are much better than mine. Rather than duplicate I've looked for pics of the same individuals th...

at Westkapelle on 29 October 2009, p10 nearly full-grown. As usual I received a swift response from Grzegorz : ringed as a pullus on 23.05.2004 in Zastow Karczmiski, middle Vistula, Poland, 51.16' N, 21.52' E. This was the first reported sighting of this individual. http://lh5.ggpht.com/_UHcWbSXmn18...

Today at Westkapelle
30 October 2009. Lots of gulls on the dike but as winter approaches the "Grey Plague" is upon us. Not just those pensioners with their dogs and Nordic Walking sticks but also the dominance of adult argenteus Herring Gulls in the gull groups. A few thousand gulls were present but very few with rings/...

Re: unringed fuscus
really crappy pic due to dense fog today at Westkappelle but still, not the quickest moulting LBBG on the dike today... The completely white head is tragically obscured behind that argenteus.
