Found some pictures in my mailbox, made by Delfin...
Cropped it a bit and resized it to 800px. Delfin will send more probably...
One picture is from 2008, one from 2009.

Larus michahellis lusitanius
I've just read the post about the Madrid bird again, and crossed this site: http://www.aranzadi-zientziak.org/fileadmin/webs/EAT/Html/gaviota_patiamarilla-esp.html Anyone in this forum with contacts to the people photographing these ringed birds? And, could it be arranged to add a section to gull-re...

Gulls along the Belgian coast
Peter kindly sent me a thesis by Davy about HG and LBBG along the Belgian coast. Very interesting reading for rainy (British) evenings.

Well, I think the discussion has ended into consensus about the ID for most people (if they didn't fall asleep).

Herring Gull 1cy - paler end
Scattered over several sites you'll find birds which resemble hyperboreus in some degree. But it's fun to speculate which birds could still be regarded 'argentatus at the paler end of the spectrum (apes)'. One feature that should be present in presumed hybrids is a bicoloured bill to some extent I w...

Re: Larus canus
About micha's: you don't need a group of more than 100. Best would be a group of birds of which you know the origin. And best would be to follow such a group throughout a ceratin period. By doing so, you will get data of specific populations. So, in Bucharest you don't have to bother about argentatu...

P8 fully grown, P9 at the length of P7. Date 30 October. We scored micha's at Etaples, NW France, most birds from S France origin probably (but also Swiss, Italian), based on the rings we have seen there. See this section to view results of that scoring (scroll down to TABLES: http://www.gull-resear...

Re: Some Yellow-legged Gulls, Romania, August 2009
Hi Cristian, Sorry for being not clear enough. You don't have to to do the complete work, in fact you only have to do half of it! Just as a rough idea: Main question: What are the phenotypic differences between argentatus (S Finland) and michahellis (Romania) in 2cy birds between April - November. S...
