Re: Mistery gull in Madrid
Hi. I remember this gull from back in Nov. 2008, which was discussed in several forums at the time - here: http://www.birdforum.net/showthread.php?t=128801&highlight=madrid+gull and here: http://www.surfbirds.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4393 Looks like the same gull in 2009. Re: Gull Israel
Conclusion, moult score for the Israel michahellis is well within normal range. Just three swedish michahellis to illustrate range at this time of year: http://www.artportalen.se/birds/gallery_imageinfo.asp?imageid=175339 http://www.artportalen.se/birds/gallery_imageinfo.asp?imageID=104270 http://ww...

Re: ad cach from Romania, May 2009
I´m afraid Theo I have lost, so to speak, provided that the gull is in fact a true cachinnans in the sence where our knowledge stands at the present ;) It might be that some individuals lack a p5 mark altogether - they certainly can have a thin mark, as can be seen in some of the images here, in a s...

Re: Covert moult in argentatus
Yes Ruud, i forgot to emphazise 'both sides', which is a matter of importance. The tree first at the top on the mentioned site, are of the same individual - the two last would be of the same individual. Regarding the one which made you hesitate, do you consider perhaps an argentatus x cachinnans, or...
