Re: LBBG?
Interesting! With this choice I would take heuglini  I haven´t expected that graellsii has such a white head at this time (early January). And I had ruled out graellsii here in Austria. But if the palest birds from northern Norway are graellsii indeed, then it is possible. Heuglini would be...

LBBG?
Hi, today 12 -15 large gulls at Wörth/Austria. Most of them cachinnans, one of them PALC from Poland. Among them also a very dark indiviual. From distance (nearly 100m) I had no doubt that it was an abnormal coloured CG. Especially white head and breast, contrasting well to the boa of dark neck stre...

Re: Caspian Gull wings
Yesterday this one at Lake Traunsee (northern Alps), Austria.
Much white on P9, "broken" black band on P5, but also black on P4 (only left wing).

Hybrid CG x HG
Hello, I had asked a similar question some weeks ago, without any success... But this time - today afternoon at Krems/Austria - the bird had a clipring. Most likely it was a Lithuanian ring. Unfortunately I had technical problems with my digiscoping cam, so the ring was not read. From Lithuania HG, ...

Re: YLG with ring from Slowakia
To come to an end with that BHG: Yesterday I have found it again, very comfortable this time
It was exactly that BHG which I had presumed, at least 10 years old. Would be interesting, where it´s alternative wintergrounds are?

Re: They go south!
Still no option / location to attract these birds with bread or food left-overs to get some close range shots and flight shots? Okay, yesterday I had the first one only some meters in front of me, at the feeding place in Steyr, unfortunately without ring. But I think, at this time many cach´s here ...

Re: Russian gull ringread in Austria
Greg hasn´t seen these pic´s yet, he isn´t at home next days. His team discovered that colony in June 2010. It consisted of mainly cachinnans, also few argentatus, heuglini and ‘heuglini x sth‘-type birds (whatever that means :?: ) had been present, I received a few pic´s. PVVS seems to be a small b...
