I received this image from Amir:
Yesterday, 16.3.12 and today 17.03.2012 (with Ehud Dovrat), I observed the oldest ever gull recorded in Israel: Baltic Gull Ring HT-054.651.
The bird was seen already on 09.03.2010 in Ashdod (and already than was the oldest). The bird was ringed on 09.07.1983 in YLOJARVI, HAME, Finland 61.41N 23.43E by MARTTi LAGERSTROM as a young out of nest.
It is now 28.9 years old.
It was seen 4 times since ringing (in 4.5.08 Tampere Finland) and 3 times in Israel (once 2010 and twice 2012).

By the way, that same day Risto celebrated, together with Finnish ornithological organisations, the 40th anniversary and the BirdLife Finland seminar (Risto talked here about "25 Years of Gull Research".He was then honoured with the "Golden decoration" of BirdLife Finland (with table standard = a type of small fleg of BirdLife Finland). Two other people received the "Silver decoration".
