Some opinions on this slender one...

Post by Helder » Tue Jan 28, 2014 9:12 pm

I would appreciate some opinions on this bird, photographed almost one year ago (12.02.2013) in Peniche. Unfortunately just have photos on this position, no underwing, tail or spread wing recorded...

I have identified it as a slender Larus michahellis, based on advanced moult, but now I have some doubts...

Thanks in advance!

Hi Helder,
1W michahellis (or lusitanius on location, but you may expect less extensive covert moult in this taxon on average, however a single bird like this, who knows).

Cheers, Mars
