Hi friends,

this gull called my attention a week ago, among thousands of LBBG. At first glance, it looks like a Herring to me, but a dark one.

Or it's simply an odd Larus fuscus?

Friends from the North, I'm sure you can help with this.

Cheers and thx!

Gabi

HEllo Gabi.

In my eyes your gull looks like a straightforward Herring Gull /argentatus/argenteus. However, the tail pattern seems a bit atypical, lacking the uniform dark band. The inner primary pattern fits a Herring well with dark subterminal spots being the darkest part.
