Hello together,
I´m new in this great forum. I come from northern Germany, near the danish border. Last Saturday I saw a ringed caspian gull 1cy and I couldn´t find any information about the project. Has anybody an idea? Could it been ringed by Norman Van Svelm, he uses green rings but lacks information which codes are used. Here is the Gull (Green ring/white code XVAU/bottom to top):
Greetings,
Oliver

Incidentally I got a rather cryptic reply from Hiddensee yesterday!
Many thanks, dear Ruud!
We are sorry, but the ringing datas for this Hiddensee-bird will coming in the next time.
With our best regards

Ruud,
Probably the ringer is still 'out in the field', and the ringing centre didn't yet receive the exact codes used for this year. They wait for the update from this ringer.

Thanks for your effort. I just received an answer from Ronald Klein who told me that the bird was ringed in the Lausitz (German landscape near poland). Further information comes from Ringingcentre Hiddensee in near future.

You should know, that like everywhere some lazy ringers give their dates to the ringing scheme quite late.
The Lausitz colonies produce some hydrids.
