Just seen: I´ve written 3rd winter - nonsense of course. It is definitely 2nd winter. It is a bird from Ivanovo oblast, while the birds going to Israel are born at Selitba Lake, this population includes barabensis type.
PVUN is a bird from a mixed colony Herring X Caspian and I still think it can be a hybrid, too advanced for Herring, what also Greg believes. It was seen 4 times in Moravia (Czech Republic) between November and 24th of Dec, before it moved to Austria. Meanwhile the weather is warmer again and the large ones had gone...
