Two new articles from Seabird on the web:

1. A review of the status of the Herring Gull Larus argentatus in Spain. Álvarez-Laó, C. SEABIRD 24 (2011): 72–82

2. Phenotypic characteristics and moult commencement in breeding Dutch Herring Gulls Larus argentatus & Lesser Black-Backed Gulls L. fuscus. Muusse, M., Muusse, T., Buijs, R.-J., Altenburg, R., Gibbins, C. and Luijendijk, B.-J. SEABIRD 24 (2011): 42–59

And more on: http://gull-research.org/papers/paper.html

Martin Heubeck, editor at SEABIRD asked if somebody (maybe on this forum) likes to co-ordinate an international write-up on the NE Atlantic Iceland Gull invasion that occurs this winter. It would be a good story as numbers never have been this high it seems, and Martin could publish it this year in colour (!) in SEABIRD if it was ready by September. I'll put forward this request as well in Zagreb, where we could discuss this seriously (beers...) at the Gull Meeting in Croatia next month.
BTW, I just received the latest copy, and I do have to say "if you can afford the 20 pounds, it's a beautiful illustrated magazine with very interesting articles". Try it for one year!!!
