i guess pete's questioning about the correlation of late moulters with eastern birds will remain without answer - no statistical data about heinei?

hans, do you have larger pics to post them here, i think we'd be interested to see this bird up to the allowed 800 pxl..?
especially those very dark GC are really unusual and show the possible variation!

Yes, indeed a bit confusing to spot a "juvenile Baltic Gull" in early spring :)

Just received this image from Willem Pompert, photographed 28-11-2011. Extensively 'hooded' Common Gull at IJmuiden beach, the Netherlands. Should this be the darker end of the hood in winter adults of canus canus? Or still well within the limits?
