I'm currently working on some webpages, using images from years back. Funny how it makes one smile seeing all those old images in all those folders. I have forgotten completely even seen the bird in these images presented below; yet it was only 3 years ago (29 April 2009). I don't have many images of this bird, apperently the bird was in the harbour, I took some close range shots just before the bird took flight, never to be seen again I guess. Interestingly, it was moulting symmetrically P8, with old primaries suggesting 2nd generation (as are the old secondaries). I can't really make up if P1 is missing. There are a few new outermost secondaries as well, while the old 2nd gen secondaries seem to be extremely worn.
Maybe this bird has arrested moult at P8 in autumn, and now starts the complete moult at P1?

Well, I don't remember ever seeing the bird (yes, my age, i know) so I just smile and continue browsing these old folders...
