Noordwijk sand supplementation

Post by marsmuusse » Fri Jun 14, 2013 9:18 pm

Already some pictures from this location at the Lesser Black-backed Gull topic, but also loads of Herrings present here, now the raise the level of the beach by over a meter. Read somewhere they use 445.000 m3 of sand to manage this project.

So about 6000+ gulls, of which 65-70% are Herrings. Here an image of alocal bird (green tibia PT, ringed by Roland-Jan Buijs and Hans Keijser) together with Russian yellow ringed Herring KW52 in the background.

The construction works allowed to take many pictures of flying birds, now added to the various June sections, like:

Hope you like it.
