Hi. Thanks so much for these truly fascinating posts and images. Interesting discussion about which LBB taxon is involved. My question would be whether the cachinnans in the images is pure - the angles in the pics are not ideal so i could very easily be misjudging the bird (in which case my apologies), but its bill structure looks rather heavy (Herring like) and i cant see much evidence of a long P10 tongue; perhaps the eye ring is a little too pale/orange also? It could be just a large, robust male cachinnans, but given what is happening in that location it would be worthwile being sure that this part of the hybrid pair is itself not a hybrid. Perhaps you field views are enough to easily counter my points - as i say, im judging things from photos which are not at the best of angles

Please keep these post coming - really great to see them...
