3 cy Smith look-alike, Faroe islands

This herring gull was seen 5.2.2012 in Fuglafjordur, Faroe Islands by Silas Olofson. It has certainly some pro-smith features, such as barred upper tail coverts, relatively black (dark brown?) tail, dark hindneck and little contrast between inner and outer primaries.
