2cy smith candidate, Iceland

This herring gull was found in Selfoss, SE-Iceland on the 16th of December 2018 by Alex Máni. It is most likely 2nd cycle, judged by the pale based bill, grey feathers on the mangtle and pale eye. The tail feathers are very black considering its age for a normal herring gull, and the upper and undertail coverts. The question is wether a herring gull with some glaucous gull genes could produce such individuals. It has agreat deal of white in the primaries on the underwing, but whether it can be like this among such gulls is not certain. Furthermore, the mirror in the primaries appear to be quite large and the secondaries are not black all the way towards the mirror. It has quite a smith feel to it, but also glaucous feel. The question is, can a 2cy herring gull with glaucous genes have so much black in the tail feathers.
