2cy smith look-alike/candidate?, Iceland

This gull was found by Stefán Ragnarsson on the 18th of June 2018 at Seltjarnarnes, Reykjavík, SW-Iceland on the 18th of June. The pale head, solid and smudgy brown tinge on neck and belly are pro signs for an american herring gull, especially given the season. In addition, the upper tail coverts are quite barred and the tail feather (at least the distal part that can be seen) to be quite black. Unfortunately, there are no flight shots.
