Hi vuelvepiedras (is it you, Gabriel?)

Nice to see such birds, with photographs of details. Do you think it is possible to do some field research (taking 100 random individuals from a group in your neighbourhood) to construct more information on features shown by this population?

E.g.: pattern of 2nd gen scapulars, extent of moult, leg-bill proportions, pattern on outer tailfeathers, extent of moult in 2nd gen wing-coverts, etc...

If you would like to do that, I think I know of a few people that are happy to help thinking about which characteristics to enlarge upon....

Hi Mars, it's me, Gabriel :-)

I have tons of pictures of Galician YLG, since i lived there for 8 years, and I use to go back twice a year or more, only to gull research.

My next visit will be on early December, so there's not a problem to choose randomly some individuals (and other dozens to be added with my past pictures). As you can see in these an other pictures, Galician michahellis are quite different to other YLG populations. Moult development is retarded in most birds, feather pattern is different in some of them (e.g. second gen scapulars, tertials and wing coverts). A bunch of juveniles are really tricky to tell apart from male LBBG, for example.

I can upload more of these...

Cheers!
Gabi
