Ringed Sabine´s Gull in Austria

Post by WolfgangSchweighofer » Sat Dec 17, 2011 6:27 am

Hi,

an adult Sabine´s Gull (Xema sabini) was found last days in Austria. Christoph Roland has discovered the bird in the Viennese sewage purification plant where tens of thousands of BHG are roosting.
Successful twitchers noticed a metal ring on the bird. I have received a picture on which only one letter is to read, seems to be an "A" in the first line. We presume Canadian origin...
Btw: It was the 5th record in Austria for this species.
Pictures can be seen here: http://70085.forumromanum.com/member/fo ... rd_at.html
