among the large series of cristian's february pics from the frozen herastrau lake in bucharest i found this bird which presumably is a "polish guy" (or lithuanian/belorus/ukranian/russian). read the texts (below pics) for my interpretation of argentatus traits in an otherwise very nice cachinnans looking bird:

is that a grey replaced upper tertial or is it a 3rd gen/late 2nd gen lower rear scapular sticking out on its left side?
