Last week, they were back again and accompanied by many gulls, the fishing boats!
On Tuesday, numbers remained low but on Thursday, 1000s of LBBG and HG found the famous
dike of Westkapelle. Birds turned out to be very approachable, by car up within 2 meters, by foot within 5 meters.
10 1cy ylg, 2 2cy and an ad were seen, as 2 1cy Caspian Gulls, one from Poland.
LBBG rings seen originated from Helgoland (1), Norway (4), France, Belgium and Holland.
An unringed fuscus candidate showed up shortly too.
Most birds arrived at 13.00 hrs, with muddy feet or swollen nose.
Wind was WNW 4.
