With rings from The Channel Islands, England, Norway (5), Sweden, Germany(3), Poland, Denmark(4), Holland(many), Belgium(many), France, Italy and the Ukrain(2), its worth showing some pics more of yesterday's drama.

And three Capian Gulls: 2x 1cy and 1x 3cy.
The second 1cy is the same individual as the one Theo posted earlier.

Hallo Maarten,

I wondered if the first bird could not be an LBBG?

Cheers

Hoi Ruud,

Thanks for pointing this out, after another good look at the first image of the 1cy Cach, I'm far less convinced than I was initially... It certainly is much less striking than the second individual.
It wouldn't have occurred to me to mark this as a LBBG, but then again I don't have much field experience with either species. :?

About the second 1cy Cach individual: Theo noticed some Micha characteristics and I'm wondering which in particular these are. Do my two flight shots shed any further light on this perhaps?

Today, a 1cy cach showed well.
Also, a Texel Herring Gull showed up.

Yesterday, only few gulls remained on the dike.
The majority chose the inland resting spots, difficult to approach.
Many gbbg and hg moved south the last days, leaving the start of the grey plague to look at.

No sun at Westkapelle today so all pics suffer from slow shutter speeds. Nice birds all over the Dike todat; 30+ Yellow-legged Gulls, 5 Caspians (including the Ukrain bird), 1000+ argenteus, 200+ argentatus 1200+ LBBG of the Dutch intergrade type and a few intermedius's. Best bird by far was a 3cy argentatus from the Murmansk area. Also included a 1cy argenteus from Belgium to remind you all what argenteus should look like.
