That tricky 2cy's

I 'm always struggling with 2cy micha 's, and so did I last last wednesday on the dike of Westkapelle. Theo pointed out this one, I found it unclear until it flew away....

? Looks like a normal Herring Gull to me ?

Mmm, indeed. I just checked the original photo's. The inner five primaries are almost wholly grey. Maybe the solid tailband and rather contrasting markings in the wing confused us. The bill fits better for Herring either. That tricky.
