Hi Theo,
I'm not sure that I understand correct. From your point of view, which one is micha and which one is cachi?

Agree with Theo, this: http://www.birdforum.net/attachment.php ... 1290519370 - is a YLG on the features mentioned by Theo, and structure.
I don´t think the bill dimension is alarmingly altered in an angle like the one shown and with a shape like that it´s not a Caspian.
If the mirror is due to damage and renewed into a 3rd gen is a matter of opinion.

Still, I would like to see more shots of this bird, if possible. This kind of angle is one of the worst to judge bill shape correctly; the perspective may make the bill appear shorter and heavier than in reality.
The outermost primaries all look 2nd-generation to me; it would be very strange that damage would occur so symmetrically, in both wings.

i think no! but even with the first pic. show me a mich with such a big p10 mirror on 2nd gen primaries. bill was seen from a sharp angle so it was clear that it would 'stretchen' if seen from the side. very nice 2cy cachinnans indeed. told i :D them

Thank you for comments JanJ and Lou (happy birthday to you!).
On November 27th I visited again the gulls hot spot on Dambovita river ;) . Soon, I will upload some new pics with (a lot of) Caspians Gulls and (some) Yellow-legged Gulls.
