I've been searching for this couple about every day now and they both seem to have left. The yellow-legged gull was last noted on 26/3 and the caspian on 2/4, both must have left shortly after these dates.
Indeed. I've been following a presumed female with Thayer's pattern in the neighbourhood and never saw her long-calling in albatross-posture. Some pictures of that bird on: http://vwgvap.waarnemingen.be/soort/photos/937?from=1980-01-01&to=2012-03-31&sex=&id_kleed=0&os=1&id_akt=0&licentie=0&only_rate...
For about a week now, there is a 4cy Caspian gull that has accompanied the usual 4cy Yellow-legged gull near the ship lock at Oudenaarde, Belgium. Both have shown sporadicly some long-calls, with the Caspian gull once seen in albatros-posture. I'm not really sure if these birds are male and female. ...

It was in it's 5th winter, and still gave a certain non-adult impression because of it's bill color and a subtle bro...
Hello, This evening I found a nearly summer-plumaged gull for which, in my opinion, "Black-headed X mediterranean" seems the only possible solution. You can see a (bad) picture of it on: http://vwgvap.waarnemingen.be/waarneming/view/46491919 I've never seen this kind of hybrid, so if anybody disagre...
