Lousy long distance (200 m) shots but note replaced tertials and coverts on both sides. A YLG would be proud. Heemskerk, 11-04-11.

Re: Lesser Black-backed type in southern England
Second generation primaries never been recorded in ringed graellsii/intermedius in spring. Very occasionally you will find a graellsii/intermedius -like bird that has replaced a few inner primaries. We have just finished a paper for Dutch Birding about 2cy LBBGs, don't know when it will be published...

A 2cy LBBG that has replaced all scapulars and the occasional covert. The primaries look pretty rounded for juvenile feathers!

Quite advanced...
If the date really is correct, aren't we talking about an extremely early moulting bird here?

I don't see much wrong with pure Caspian in the picture above? But maybe I've seen too many hybrids here in Poland

Re: Ringed in Enghaveparken Copenhagen.
How many Glaucous Gulls do you have over there? They seem to sneak into the background in every photo series you post!

I think we saw the same bird when we visited the dump? I'll check my pictures when I get home next week.
