We couldn't really properly ID this 1cy. Obviously close to Herring but very worn compared to other 1cy birds present. Possibly from a mixed colony also housing Caspian? The adult showed a primary pattern as in Caspian but the head and bill shape seem to show Herring-influence and it's quite short-legged for what appears to be a male.

Today saw only 6 cach and 8 micha left at the place.
A few new rings and some old friends.

In addition to Theo, we also had this bird. Comparing it with an adult micha on the same pile, I noted that the legs were a bit paler, the orbital ring more orange, the mantle slightly lighter (more Herring) and the tip of p10 fully white. If I counted right, p6 is growing, while p7 is dropped and p8-10 are old. Note the very faint black spot on p5. The amount of black in the outer primaries is a-typical for micha. This must be a baltic Herring, I think.
Sorry for the crispy background.
