helllo,
3 young (2cy) female type large gulls wintering at the neckar river in stuttgart, SW germany at the moment: the argentatus which is here at least since 25.12.2009 (see: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=162) and 2 cachinnans, pretty different from each other plumagewise, but both really small and short legged. the first one is a rel. classic one with greyish scaps, the other one a strong marked dark individual. this one has solid blackish scapular centres and has replaced 8 inner median coverts (left wing), some lessers and the upper tertials - thus seemingly a pure cachinnans (i'd expect a hybrid with argentatus not to be as advanced - ?)
