Hi All:
Yesterday 12.10.2010 at Pantín Beach (NW Spain) the smallest Larus marinus I ´ve ever seen...... BLACK J0283 was ringed as pullus at Udvaare, Lindesnes, S Norway. Same size as our little michahellis and Larus fuscus......
Best Wishes

If I look at e.g. the bill and tail I seriously wonder if this wasn't a mixup with a Herring pullus...

...and the jizz also doesn't look good for a GBBG...

To me it's pretty obvious that it's not an GBBGull. As Ruud have pointed out I allso beleave it's a mix with tatus.
If you look away from the fact that it has been ringed as a GBBG, what would you have id'ed it as?
As the colony are a mix of GBBGulls, tatus and LBBGulls, can a hybrid with LBBG be ruled out for sure?

It's hard to see the 'real colours' of this bird in the pictures but I think Theo is spot on. Male LBBG looks like the best option.
