This pictures were taking in Madrid a week ago.

much white in coverts and a complete patterned gc-row is possible in michahellis as are the halfmoonlike notches in tertials.

but it has the face (dark and streaky) and the freshness of a lesser black-back. so i guess it is rather a graellsii, like the other gulls in the pic. no moulted scaps would be enourmously late for a spanish mich. but i've seen 1 atlantis on lanzarote being complete juvenile at the end of august last year.

Remember that when we are speaking about "mich" we are thinking in michahellis michahellis usually, but our North and NW "Lusies" are as I Always say "Fifty herring fifty graellsii" ; -)
And they moult one month later than "mich" more or less.
Look at the attached bird ringed in Galicia (NW Spain) it has a very dark face, small and delicate body.... resembling fuscus. Another birds resembles herrings.
There are 3 ringed "lusi" birds sighted in central Spain in 2011-12 (first inland sightings in Spain....).
I think "Lusi" is another good option, but....

Another of those presumed late "Lusies" from this week in Lisbon, although the tertial pattern is new to me, I have seen plain edges reaching the tertials, notched ones, but never this pattern...

Hi Delfín.

At first sight it looks like a Herring, but a slender - somewhat long-winged one. Rather unmarked underparts suggest other than Herring, altough a few Herring´s can show sutch unmarked underparts. So, what about lusitanius Yellow-legged?
