LBBG or HG in Denmark

Dear members,

I need some help.

Any thoughts on this gull: http://www.flickr.com/photos/109275407@ ... 871625225/

Is it possible to rule out 2nd winter Herring Gull from the existing photos? These are unfortunately the only photos I have.

hi kent,

i think, yes, it is possible to rule out 3cy HG.
3rd gen. type scaps and median coverts are just too dark, primaries look
jet black and structure is betetr for a fuscus ssp.

Hello Kent!

Agree that it´s not a Herring. All dark inner primaries exludes that.
