2cy bird from Romania

Post by Theo Muusse » Wed Nov 04, 2009 9:25 pm

This bird appeared in a flock of many cachinnans, 1 fuscus and 2 heuglini on 20090517 at Tulcea, Romania.
Any ideas?

hi theo,

can you tell the reason why you think it does not look right for a 2cy michahellis? primary moult is ok as is everything else to my eyes. strangely, YLG is not as common in the city of tulcea as one might expect, like in other danube cities more upstream: braila, galati, calarasi, and of course bucharest and constanta.

all the best,

lou

That is exactly the reason, the lack of michahellis in Tulcea and the rest of the Delta was stunning.
Only 3 birds were seen; 2 2cy and 1 3cy. I do think it is a mich as you all do.
