Photo was taken 2004 near Berlin, metal-ring lost. Hatched near Cherson, Black Sea, 10 years before.

Ronald, do you know when they've stopped using darwic in the Ukraine? I've only read (/tried to read) metal in Poland and the Netherlands.

Darwic ringing was done sometimes (not yearly) in the nineties by Tatjana Ardamatskaya and Antonia Rudenko. Rings came from Norman van Swelm. Maybe Greg Neubauer (Poland, member of this board) has further information. Personally I saw only 3 different colour-ringed birds from this project on rubbish dumps in Northern Germany. All of them were in their first c-year, the last one was this funny guy (red UAH5) in September 1999 near Rostock. Note the typical albatros-posture.
Merry x-mas to all.

Grzegorz Neubauer put some yellow rings on Ukrainian birds: we had such a bird (yellow PUEX
