adult and juveniles

chris has posted a set of tremendous pics of adult cachinnans from lithuania (september): http://chrisgibbins-gullsbirds.blogspot ... ember.html
it strikes me a bit that most birds look "better" in many ways than romanian breeding birds. the lithuanian ones seem to be shorter but also slimmer billed on average, most (a larger percentage than romanian) have strong pigmented irises. where should they come from - ukraine, russia? lithuania?
i have uploaded the dark juveniles from september (these ones: viewtopic.php?f=11&t=291&start=10#p1398) on my website, click on "higher resolution available" below the pics and you'll get sharper images, i don't know what the problem is yet): http://lou.bertalan.de/gulls/m_grp.php? ... nans%201cy
