These season we start to serious work in our local breeding colony.
121 nest of large gulls, most (80-90%) cachinnans looking birds.
I will post in these topic photos of adult Caspian, which we measure and ringed.

Cheers
Michal

hi michal

PCPV has a ridiculously short bill.
PCSZ almost a fairy tale book caspian (with a slightly hanging gonys).
PCUX the famous broken p5 band and a nice grey insert in black p10 subterminal.
let them come! i'm curious how many % thayeri cachs will be among these.

hi lou!
yes we have mich x cach breeding (probably 2 pairs) one nest is already located.
Of course we will try to catch them too :)
PCPV - is not the only one with short bill, but first in our hands, more of them are present in colony.
I would like to report more of them as fast as possible, if we manage to catch them of course :)

cheers
Michal

Quite interesting. For me it is unclear, if real hybrids mich x cach do exist. All probably cases I have seen yet in East Germany (breeders in Lausitz area) were arg (often omissus-Phenotype) x cach.

Well done. What about the partner, chicks are real from this combination? Sorry for my questions, but I saw also MedG x BlackHG interbreeding gone in the wind, because the mother was not faithfull.
