hello,
is this a ridibundus x melanocephalus or is it just a weird thinbilled (3cy?) med gull? it was in a pure flock of med gulls on the black sea coast, recently. there were many thousend migrants in the lagoons south of the danube delta.

Re: hybrid or mediterranean gull
hi,
in the same flock was a 1cy which could be a normal ridibundus but could well be another hybrid contender, what do you think? it looks as leggy as the med gulls around, head pattern is not quite typical for ridi (but i know how variable they are), bill looks a bit strong and blunt tipped for BHG and leg colour was deep ochre. is it just a BHG?
