I don't know if you picked your birds at random or not but two out of four adults with a clearly paler iris (even when considering the good light) would be highly unusual here in the Netherlands! Any ring readings in Bucharest?

Hi Ruud,
I've seen a (very?) few gulls with rings here in Bucharest, and no Common Gull among them. And yes I took the pics rather in a random manner (the only criterion was the distance...)
