3cy look-alike, Iceland

This herring gull was photographed by Ómar Runólfsson in 24rth of February 2012 in Sandgerði. It has quite robust bicoloured bill, light head and dark upperparts.It is identified as American herring gull on the GRO ( http://gull-research.org/smithsonianus/ ... _z957SBqxE). Given the variation of smith look-alikes at this age, it is hard to be certain that this is a genuine Smith or not, and probably best identified as a smith look-alike.
