The colony of IJmuiden is at full strength now, with high numbers of pairs returned. Here, a few ringed birds from the harbour this morning.
Again the bird from the Thames project UA9T orange and the old LBBG wfr1 which was caught at adult on the nest in June 1996.

Thanks Christian, very kind of you... but considering the cooperative subjects on these images, it's not very difficult I have to tell. You just need some old bread.
BTW, the British bird is fighting its way into a roof top colony at the moment.

Well, a car as a hide also is quite essential! Today I went by bike and it's much harder to attract gulls even with a good supply of bread... Only some local Herrings today in the harbour.
Too many people and too much wind for any birds on the beach but there was a ringed 2cy GBBG at the sluice complex. Needless to say this bird from S Norway was previously observed at Westkapelle.
