Re: Adult Caspian Gull, April 23rd
nice 'thayeri' type caspian. looks to be a different bird to this one taken at the same time same location - http://www.birdforum.net/attachment.php ... 1272045567 but both have a broken p5 band.
a series of at least 3 different adult birds from the same day here in these 3 posts:
http://www.birdforum.net/showpost.php?p ... count=1424
http://www.birdforum.net/showpost.php?p ... count=1425
http://www.birdforum.net/showpost.php?p ... count=1426
note that the one with the very pale iris is assymmetric: left p5 mark broken, right p5 mark solid (last 6 pics in 1425 and 1426). another bird seems to be symmetric with both p5 marks being broken in the middle first one and the bird depicted in this thread) the third has solid p5 marks.

Re: Adult Caspian Gull, April 23rd
Thank you for your study, Lou. Yes, I would say that were three adult birds there on April 23rd. I have a lot of pics with some 2cy, 3cy and 4cy birds (probably all michahellis). I will try to post-process these pics in the next few days.
