Larus armenicus

Last month, Amir Ben Dov from Israel has examined adult Larus armenicus on primary moult scores. At his place it is a common species (we are still awaiting for the first to appear here!), and its nice to see the first tables. There is not really a website dealing with month-to-month differences in plumage development, but hopefully we can manage to build something on the ORG-site:

Hopefully we can continue to build more pages for this interesting taxon, and so far the pages look great, not the least by the beautiful pictures Amir took. I'll update this topic so now and then, when new months are added.

If you would like to do likewise for local birds at your place, please feel free to contact. Maybe something similar can be done for West Iberia (lusitanicus) and Atlantic-Cantabria (cantabricans). If anyone has contacts with people from the Ukrain/Romania (cachinnans) or Kasachstan (barabensis), I'm interested to hear as well!

Most of the November sections have been added. Interestingly, some birds seem to be replacing inner primaries, which should of course not be the case in the micha-complex (see other topic).
Also funny: for the first time, Amir photographed courtship ceremony on the wintering grounds for this species.

(and to pretend that I don't have a regular job, together with Gabi and Antonio we are trying to create pages on lusitanius, hopefully with many ringed birds.) Have fun!
